Sunday 17th November saw the TKF Squad bring home a massive haul of 10 medals from the JKS National Championships. A brilliant set of results which included 1 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze medals. It was a great day at the JKS Nationals which was held at the Wild Cats Arena in Nottingham.
In the kata categories, Oliver Curtis was the first TKF member to collect a medal after a good performance claiming a bronze medal. Shortly after, Thomas Velea managed to progress through a few rounds and cement a place in the final where he managed to earn a silver medal. Cody Gedge earned a bronze medal after four rounds of kata and narrowly lost in the semi-final to the eventual winner. Matthew Yardy managed to defend his JKS National title, winning a gold medal in the Senior kata category after a goof round of katas.
The kumite swiftly followed and both Martyna Marjeska and Ellie-Rose Fyfe managed to perform brilliantly in their kumite fights and both managed to earn themselves well deserved bronze medals. The girls brilliant run continued when they secured a silver medal in the team event despite only having two team members and having to forfeit the third fight. Henry Pegge was so unfortunate to miss out on the gold medal place but had to settle for the silver medal after a couple of solid fights. Olly Howell Hoye secured a bronze medal in his kumite category after a few hard-earned fights while Freddie Saunders, Max Tilson and Cody Gedge all fought well as a team and managed to fight their way to the final and earn a silver medal.
