Saturday 10th November saw 2 times 10K Winner and European Bronze medallist, Joe Kellaway, come to Norwich and deliver a special kumite course for TKF. It was a fantastic turnout and was great to see so many students so enthusiastic about the course.
The first course was open for everyone and every grade to come and train. It started off with a kumite related warm up and stretching. Joe then covered basic movements with foot work drills and different ways of attacking before building up the tempo to more realistic fighting situations. The course was then finished off with fun reaction type games which everyone got a buzz out of.
The second course was open to all those who were brown belt and above and squad members who wished to get an insight to the more advanced side of the kumite. Starting off with warm up which also tested co-ordination and other drills to improve balance and leg strength. It started off with simple attacking techniques which then evolved into useful attacking combinations.
A big thank you goes to Joe for coming down and delivering a great course and to top it off, it was a pleasure to have Joe present some Dan diplomas to recent successful dan graders.
