A busy weekend for TKF saw the Higher Grade Grading take place on Saturday 8th February and the Alternative Grading take place on Sunday 9th February in Norwich.

The grading on Saturday followed TKFs normal karate classes in the morning with the first half of the afternoon welcoming the Yellow, Green and Purple belts to their grading. Under a watchful eye from the TKF Instructors who took the reins of the pre-grading lesson before the actual grading. It was a busy start to the afternoon but everyone who participated did brilliantly to withstand the nerves of having to grade in front of the panel of instructors.

Whilst that grading was running, the higher grades began their pre-grading lesson in preparation for their grading. This meant that Purple/White belts, Brown belts, and Brown/White belts would be next to stand in front of the grading panel. For some of these students, it would be the last time they would attend a TKF grading. Those Brown/White belts who were successful and achieved their Brown/Double White belts would begin their training for Black belt which would mean attending one of the JKS Black Belt Gradings which are held throughout the year.

The Alternative Grading, which followed on the Sunday morning proceeded like every other TKF Grading. This was an opportunity for those who couldn’t make the main grading earlier in the month. This consisted of Little Ninjas and TKF students all hoping to achieve their next grade and take one step closer to Black belt.

Overall, the weekend was a successful one, and lots of lessons learnt over the course of the weekend. It was great to see those who had passed earn their new belts but even if it’s not quite the result you want, it’s about picking yourself up, focusing on what you have to work on and making sure you bounce back. Karate training is a marathon not a sprint, so with hard work and determination you can reach your goals.
